11th Annual Lou Scoras Memorial Golf Outing Brings the Industry Together

On Monday, May 18, many of the local industry’s finest gathered together despite the unseasonably cold weather for a day of fun and relaxation for the Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of New Jersey (AASP/NJ)’s 11th Annual Lou Scoras Memorial Golf Outing. The yearly event was hosted once again at the beautiful Colonia Country Club and featured lunch and helped to honor the memory of one of the association’s most beloved members.

Shop owners, technicians, vendors and more attended the fundraiser in order to socialize, enjoy themselves, and raise money for a scholarship in honor of Scoras. A number of industry members not only attended, but also helped sponsor the event through hole sponsorships and prize sponsorships.

“We appreciate the people who participate so much,” said AASP/NJ President Jeff McDowell. “Whether they attend the event or donate to it, it is heartwarming to see so many come together for such a good cause. Lou had an amazing impact on this industry and it’s nice to see the industry making an impact in his name.”

After a luncheon and a full day of golf, guests were treated to a cocktail reception and dinner where they partook in 50/50 and a prize raffle on an unprecedented scale. The dinner was hosted by Joe Amato Sr. and the Amato Agency.

“Time and time again we see the rousing support of the industry during events like this,” said AASP/NJ Executive Director Charles Bryant. “We appreciate all those in attendance and all of the companies who helped to fund this night. I urge all of you, when doing business, look to these sponsors first.”

This year’s Golf Outing winners were as follows: First place – Dave Brennan, Ken Pagel, Brian Horton and Mark Ierubino; Second place – Frank Dominici, Robin Cuneo, AJ Bassani and Rich Markovich; Third place – Joe Amato Sr., John Griffin, Pat DeCeasare and John Agamie.
