AASP/NJ hosted over 50 AASP/NJ members and industry professionals on April 9 and 11 at two eye-opening seminars geared toward analyzing one’s numbers to maintain and increase profitability. John Niechwiadowicz of Performance Consulting Services addressed attendees in both Toms River and Totowa on the importance of measuring shop performance to gain a better understanding of areas of success throughout the business, as well as those that could stand improvement. Brian Dougherty and Jason Wagner of CCC One and Sergio Palma of PHLITE Software were also on hand at the meetings, and provided attendees with informative overviews of their respective products and services.

AASP/NJ Board member Jerry McNee, who coordinated the presentations, notes how important meetings like these are in heightening awareness in often-overlooked areas. “It was very impressive to see that a good deal of attendees seem to have their fingers on the pulse when it came to knowing their numbers,” he says, “but there were still areas of focus that some were not up to speed on, and definitely room for improvement for everyone. I’ve been using John’s consulting services for years, and there are still things I haven’t learned; it’s definitely a work in progress. But those who took the time to attend these seminars – from those who had a pretty good idea of their numbers to the ones who have a long way to go – have taken that crucial first step in the right direction, by taking the initiative to learn how to better themselves.”

“In today’s economy, the importance of knowing your numbers is second to none,” says AASP/NJ President Jeff McDowell. “Jerry did a great job organizing these meetings, and the information put forth by our presenters really hit home with many in attendance. John’s presentation resonated with everyone, and the PHLITE and CCC One software systems are two really great tools that many shop owners can implement easily in their everyday operations. Part of AASP/NJ’s mission is to help our members stay as educated and in-the-know as possible; I believe that these presentations helped us to do just that.”
