AASP/NJ’s First NORTHEAST™ Exhibitor Boot Camp A Huge Success

As they approached the 35th annual NORTHEAST™ 2012 Automotive Services Show, the Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of New Jersey (AASP/NJ) looked for new ways to help exhibitors to get more of a bang for their buck. AASP/NJ apparently found the perfect solution when they brought in Susan Friedmann, the “Trade Show Coach,” to put this year’s exhibitors through the first NORTHEAST™ Exhibitor Boot Camp. The three-hour seminar was held just about two months prior to NORTHEAST™ 2012, the Northeast’s largest automotive repair show which takes place March 9, 10 and 11, 2012 at the Meadowlands Exposition Center of Secaucus, NJ.

A room full of exhibitors showed up to see Friedmann, an internationally-known author and expert in training exhibitors on how to improve and get the most out of their trade show experiences.
“We really didn’t know what to expect when we first found Susan,” AASP/NJ President Jeff McDowell says. “Her qualifications were outstanding so we didn’t doubt what she would bring to the table. We just weren’t sure how our exhibitors would respond.” Judging by the responses to a survey following the seminar, McDowell needn’t have worried.

“Boot Camp was very informative,” one attendee replied. “It had lots of good information and addressed a lot of mistakes that everyone takes for granted.” Another added, “It covered all aspects of booth presentation at the show. Very comprehensive and well paced. I would recommend this boot camp to colleagues if they want to benefit their company as part of any trade show.”

“I’ve said it many times,” McDowell states. “We are always, always looking for ways to make NORTHEAST™ the best show of its kind for everyone — exhibitors, attendees, educators, students, etc. I think our Boot Camp is another in a long line of successes for AASP/NJ and the NORTHEAST™ show.”       The proof is in the pudding, as they say. As one exhibitor noted when giving the seminar a “nine” out of a possible “ten” on the survey: “Sorry, no event is perfect. But you came very close.”
