The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission has hired new additional personnel. Part of the duties of the new people at the NJ-MVC will be to perform on-site compliance inspections at New Jersey Licensed Auto Body Shops.
Be ready for your compliance Inspection!
Although we have had an auto body license law since 1983 there has been little in the way of enforcement. Before long, that will change. Inspectors from the NJ-MVC will be performing inspections that are likely to include many if not all of the following and maybe more:
Does your estimate contain all the notices required
Are your estimates signed by the person that prepared the estimate
Are you obtaining Signed Authorization for initial and supplemental repairs
Confirmation that you have the equipment stated on your application or renewal
Are you meeting the Advertising Requirements
Is your record keeping practices in order and much more
