10.12.26 –  It’s the mission of the Alliance of Automotive Service Providers of New Jersey (AASP/NJ) to help open doors for up and coming technicians. AASP/NJ will carry out this longstanding commitment by awarding an up and coming technician with the Russ Robson Memorial Scholarship during its Annual Meeting at Gran Centurions (Clark, NJ) on October 21.

Former association president Russ Robson is remembered for his tremendous passion and dedication for education. He worked tirelessly to help further the professionalism of the collision repair industry. Each year, AASP/NJ keeps his memory alive by awarding a deserving tech or student with scholarship funds to be put toward their craft.

“Russ set a great example for this industry through his commitment to training,” observes AASP/NJ President Ken Miller. “AASP/NJ is proud to carry his legacy by awarding a talented professional in the hopes it inspires them to continue on in the field.”

The award is open to candidates nominated by AASP/NJ members. Eligible nominees include current employees of members or promising technical school students entering the industry. Nominations must be received by Wednesday, October 14. Visit aaspnj.org/russ-robson-scholarship/ to nominate a candidate.

The Russ Robson Scholarship Award is just one of the many highlights of the celebratory Annual Meeting. The night will include award presentations for the Stan Wilson/New Jersey Automotive Body Shop of the Year, Mechanical Shop of the Year and AASP/NJ will conduct its annual Board of Director elections.

Following the awards, acclaimed comedian and TV/radio personality Robert Kelly will have the audience in hysterics. Kelly is well-known as co-host of Sirius/XM’s The Bonfire and co-founder of the RiotCast podcasting network, in addition to numerous TV and film appearances including The Tonight Show, Gutfeld!, Opie and Anthony, Inside Amy Schumer, Tough Crowd, Trainwreck and more.
