The Alliance of Automotive Service Providers/New Jersey has an ongoing presence at the state capitol, before regulatory agencies, and within the entire automotive service industry. We help ensure the future health of our industry by developing and maintaining relationships with those who influence policy that affects us all. We keep an eye on legislation as it moves through the complicated process of becoming law. We alert our members to changes and regulations that affect their businesses.

As an advocate for the independent automotive service industry, we take a stand, consistently producing direct and positive results affecting the day-to-day operations of your business. We make it easier for your voice to be heard. We understand and deliver advocacy for:

Legislative & Regulatory Issues:

• Technical education funding

• Aftermarket parts

• Loaner/rental vehicle liability

• Insurer claims-handling practices

• Environmental compliance

Access to Industry Legislation and Forms

The AASP/NJ Legislative Committee works with lobbyists and state representatives to represent the interests of the automotive industry in Trenton. The AASP/NJ Legislative Committee works actively on behalf of the association’s members, both collision and mechanical. Through these actions, we frequently meet with legislators and state regulatory agencies that affect the automotive repair industry. We constantly disseminate educational material and hold seminars for the benefit of the industry as it may relate to technical, management, or legal information. It is the goal of AASP/NJ to provide a forum for members of the industry to exchange ideas, learn new techniques, improve the quality of service provided to the public and the quality of life of those engaged in this industry. Working with our contacts in Trenton allows AASP/NJ access to New Jersey legislators and provides valuable industry input on issues that would otherwise be impossible to address.
